Mark Munson
Mark Munson received his B.S. in chemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and worked in the Rheumatic Disease Laboratory at the Maine Medical Center, which later became the Foundation for Blood Research in Scarborough, ME. At FBR, Mark worked on protein purification and quantitation, and in the development of quantitative solid-phase immunofluorescence assays for human blood proteins. In 1985, Mark joined the flow cytometry program at the Maine Cytometry Research Institute, where he worked on retrospective DNA analysis of paraffin-embedded colon cancers with Dr. Bruce Bagwell, and developed a Southern blot system for clinical T- and B-cell gene rearrangement assays. MMCRI later became the Maine Medical Center Research Institute, where Mark worked with Dr. Bagwell on developing a patented synthetic fluorescent DNA reporter probe for room-temperature identification of bacterial DNA sequences. He joined Verity Software House in late 1985 in sales and customer education, including on-site customer training in WinList and ModFit LT. We are very happy to have Mark present information on DNA analysis for our DNA Cell Cycle Courses. He can be reached at mem@vsh.com |
