Richard Konz
has been in research for 24 years -
started out as a biogeochemist and electron microscopist; then converted to flow
cytometry about 17
years ago. He's worked with the FACS 2, FACS4, FACScan, FACSort, FACStar,
FACStar+, FACS Vantage, LSRII, Moflo, Cyan and a brief stint with the EPICS. He
worked with Larry Duckett and John Cordott at BD and helped develop the LSR. He
has also worked at the University of Maine, followed by Dana Farber, VA
Medical Center, Univ. of Vermont, Pfizer, Genzyme, CompuCyte, DakoCytomation,
Wyeth and Novartis. His undergraduate degree is from the Univ. of Maine.
He also did some graduate work there and at the University of Vermont. He
is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and
the Director of the Flow Cytometry Core Facility at UMass Medical School. We welcome Rich's
expertise in flow and his vivacious style in teaching. Rich can be reached
