Our Trip Itinerary

We began and ended in Budapest.  We drove from there up through Slovakia and a tiny corner of Czech Republic (due to a detour) to Krakow and Auschwitz in Poland, then turned west to Prague, south through Czech Republic to Austria and Vienna.  We drove through Austria's Castle road through Burgenland and then west to Lake Bled in Slovenia, and down to Lipica to see the Lipizzaner stallions practice.  We were 4 km from Italy, but instead of visiting Trieste we traveled to the Slovenian coast of the Adriatic and down to Croatia, along the Istrian peninsula.  We stayed there one night then on down the Dalmatian coast to Split where we caught a ferry to the island of Hvar.  We enjoyed 4 days there in a little fishing town of Jelsa in a timeshare, where we really enjoyed the rest!  On our last Tuesday, we took the ferry on to Dubrovnik.   We began our journey north again on Wednesday, through the Plitvice National Park in Croatia and on to Zagreb, Budapest again, and home.
