Driving back to Budapest up the Dalmatian coast was a pleasant experience.  Much of the highway is like our California Big Sur, but with islands just off shore.  We traveled here through a very Small portion of Bosnia Herzegovina, through the town of Neum.  If you check out this slide show, you'll notice the city sign has a unique feature!

We traveled up directly beside the sea until just below Split and then inland and subsequently back to Budapest and hom.  On the route, we took a beautiful side trip to the Croatian National park, Plitvice Lakes.

It was a very rainy night and we almost were not able to hike the park due to weather!  However, as we were preparing to leave to drive on, the weather broke, and we decided to risk the drizzle and enjoy the walk, the lakes and the beautiful waterfalls.  It was certainly one of the side trips I would not have wanted to miss!  Beautiful canyon full of rapids, lakes and waterfalls!
