We arrived in Krakow about noon... traffic and highways are not fast traveling!!  After a very short but congested drive around the outside of the old city we spotted a parking lot, which fortuitously was used by a very nice hotel next door!!  We decided, since we saved last night, to splurge for this top notch hotel, just at the corner of the city, the Hotel Warsawski!   We walked the city all afternoon,

climbed the city wall, and up to the Wawel Castle with the cathedral on top

We had a fabulous dinner at one of Rick Steve's suggestions, a Ukrainian and Lithuanian restaurant Restauracya Jarema - with live music and the most enjoyable dinner.... Ukrainian Borscht, a white Borscht, veal goulash with potato dumplings!  FANTASTIC! 

Tomorrow AM we leave for Auschwitz, a stop on the way overnight in the Czech Republic somewhere, and on to Prague for a couple of days!  We are thoroughly enjoying our adventure!!
