Our trip into Slovenia was interesting, through a 7.8 km tunnel from Austria!  But soon after we entered we arrived in our destination for the next two nights, Bled.  This is a picturesque village on Lake Bled, surrounded by the foothills of the Julian Alps!  We intended to stay in a 'tourist farm' there, but couldn't exactly find it.... However as we were looking we found the most beuatiful pension - so we stayed there!!  Here is the pension and our view!! 

We stayed two wonderful restful quiet nights here!!  On our first full day in Bled we took one of these little boats across to the Bled Island, Otok.  There is a tradition that Slovenian couples go there to be married and the man has to carry his potential bride up the 99 stairs (without dropping her!) - quite a feat, since I had a hard time just climbing them!!
